This 8-week intensive offers screenwriters an intensive and collaborative deep-dive into writing and editing scenes with weekly feedback on their work.

It's INTENSE - make no mistake! Writers are expected to write their own, and edit a fellow classmate's scene every week .  

Module 1: CONFLICT
This lesson explores the core of any engaging scene: conflict. You’ll learn about different types of conflict (internal, interpersonal, and external) and how to heighten stakes in a way that feels authentic. Through practical exercises, you’ll develop skills for integrating meaningful, tension-filled conflict that drives the narrative forward.

Module 2: CHARACTER
Great scenes are character-driven, allowing audiences to connect emotionally. In this lesson, you’ll focus on character motivations, backstory, and arcs to make each scene a rich exploration of character. Learn how to reveal character through action and dialogue in a way that feels natural and layered.

Module 3: SUBTEXT
In this lesson, you’ll discover the power of what’s left unsaid. Subtext is the layer beneath the dialogue, creating depth and allowing the audience to read between the lines. You’ll practice writing scenes that hint at underlying emotions and conflicts, adding complexity and intrigue to your storytelling.

Module 4: PACING
Learn how to control the rhythm and flow of your scenes to maintain audience engagement. This module covers techniques for balancing dialogue and action, adjusting scene length, and building tension. You’ll explore how pacing affects mood and narrative drive, ensuring every moment holds the reader’s attention.
