Join us for an inspiring hour with Emma Hogan — award-winning writer, artist, and creative powerhouse in the world of children’s animation.

Emma developed the beloved Nelly and Nora for CBeebies (nominated for an Irish Film and Television Academy Award), where she also served as the series art director and wrote 30 episodes. Since then, she’s gone on to write for a wide range of much-loved preschool and kids' shows including Chip and Potato, Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese, Silly Sundays, Clangers, Alva and the Trolls, and Rafi the Wishing Wizard, to name just a few.

In this conversation, Emma will share honest insights from over a decade of writing for children’s television — including the joys and challenges of writing for preschool, how she approaches visual storytelling, and what she’s learned about sustaining a long-term freelance career in the animation industry.

This session is for writers and creatives who are curious about writing for animation — especially in the preschool space — or who simply want a real-world window into what it takes to build a successful career behind the scenes of the shows kids love.
